Sporting events in Boulogne and western Paris

From September through the December holidays, then from spring into summer, the calendar of sporting events in the Hauts-de-Seine and the 16th arrondissement of Paris barely pauses, and there is always something happening. The French football championship and European cup nights at the Parc des Princes, top-level rugby at Jean-Bouin, clay-court tennis and a major padel tournament at Roland-Garros, a road race along the Seine in November: every discipline has its venue, every crowd its event.

These major sports events bring together fans, families, and young enthusiasts from across the Paris Region, France, and Europe, and the city also offers plenty of ways to stay active: padel, swimming, fitness, a whole variety of sports activities within walking distance of the hotel.

Parc des Princes: the home of Paris football

Porte de Saint-Cloud station, right next to the stadium, is just one metro stop from the hotel on line 9. Home of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the Parc des Princes welcomes more than 47,000 spectators for Ligue 1 matches, France’s top-flight championship, and big European nights. The best time to soak it in: arrive early, as the atmosphere builds around the stadium.

Padel, from our street to the courts of Roland-Garros

Now one of the most popular racket sports around, padel has set up shop on the very street where the hotel stands. Since September 2025, the former ice skating rink at 1 rue Victor-Griffuelhes, once home to ice hockey and figure skating and a landmark of local sport, has housed a 4Padel center with seven courts. It is a great idea for a game with colleagues, friends, or family before heading to a match in Paris. Spectators, meanwhile, meet every September at the Stade Roland-Garros for the Alpine Paris Major Premier Padel, where the best professional players on the international tour compete. The 2026 edition was held from September 6 to 13; check dates for the next edition on the official website.

Concerts, shows, and horse racing in western Paris

When the final whistle blows, the evening is only just beginning. A few minutes from the hotel, on the former site of the Renault car factories, La Seine Musicale draws music lovers to its concerts and live entertainment. For a breath of nature, the Hippodrome de ParisLongchamp blends horse racing tradition with open-air festivals. Two landmark venues and two moods, perfect for rounding off a sports getaway with a cultural night out or a day in the fresh air.

Back at the Bijou Hôtel, just minutes away, enjoy a nightcap at L’Écrin, open until midnight, before settling into the calm of a renovated room.

La Seine Musicale, on Île Seguin

Set on the downstream tip of Île Seguin, La Seine Musicale has established itself since opening in 2017 as one of the major cultural hubs of western Paris. Designed by architects Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines, it is recognizable from afar by its egg-shaped auditorium, wrapped in a lattice of timber and glass, and by its large sail of solar panels that follows the sun. Inside, two halls share the program. The Auditorium, with about 1,150 seats, focuses on classical music. La Grande Seine welcomes up to 6,000 spectators for concerts, musicals, ballet, and major shows. Don’t miss the rooftop garden, more than 7,000 square meters of greenery above the river, ideal before a concert. The venue is about a 15-minute walk from the hotel.

ParisLongchamp Racecourse

In the heart of the Bois de Boulogne, north of the hotel, the Hippodrome de ParisLongchamp ranks among the great horse racing venues of the world. Every first Sunday in October, it hosts the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, created in 1920, which brings together the finest racehorses and spectators from across Europe. Fully redesigned by architect Dominique Perrault and reopened in spring 2018, the site is organized around a 160-meter grandstand inspired by the lines of a galloping thoroughbred, its facade echoing autumn colors. Between race days, the racecourse becomes an open-air stage. It hosts the Solidays music festival every June, along with concerts and outdoor events. It makes a great outing with family or friends, easily combined with a walk in the Bois de Boulogne.
